another of my favorites. i find a lot of meaning in the memories of the moment, the misty and foggy dusk which only provoked a sense of mystery in the air. the chilly morning winds, deserted streets and the limited visibility added a sense of ambiguity. every journey that one can choose has its uncertainties, for good or for bad. however, if one chooses to follow through, whatever obstacles pay off.

as you walk into the (london eye) capsule, you enter a compact, air conditioned, egg-shaped glass observatory. you are lifted off of the ground. the capsule rises slowly as you look down upon the city. everything fades into distance and details multiply. it is soon too much information to process through your eyes. then, for a few minutes you have reached the highest visible point. it is here where time is not a factor, but what matters is the moment, you treasure this point with what you feel, through your visions, thoughts and emotions. as you descend to your normal conscious state of mind, other people await to start their journey.

there are so many little details in life we take for granted. everyday things we do, hear, see, etc.. wait a second. stop doing what you’re doing. breathe, observe, analyze, what is it that completes the context in which we live in? i took this photo last year in toronto, but it wasn’t until a few months back that i decided to look up “ducks” on the internet. turns out male ducks are called drakes, and that fur on its beak is what keeps their chest warm. those are used to keep their eggs warm too. they also produce an oily fluid which keeps their outer feather layer waterproof and their feet have no nerves or blood vessels, which means they never feel the temperature.

personally, i think i can easily spend like forty percent of the time i’m awake daydreaming and staring into the blue. it is even better enjoyed when it is complimented by really really calm music or sounds, as i observe patterns, texture, or anything moving along those lines with millions of stories to tell. i do believe this girl enjoys the same. this was in the berlin museum square/district in front of the altes. 2009

costa rica is geographically blessed. located in between the atlantic and the pacific, you can have monumental sunrises and sunsets on the beach even within the same day. this sunset was earlier this year in guanacaste, playa potrero.

speaking of holland, amsterdam is such a remarkably pleasant city. within such a rich cultural context and progressive mindset, the dutch have come a long way. still today, capital of windmills, tulips, cheese, bicycles, canals, coffeeshops, history and culture amongst others, amsterdam has more to offer by the day. just this past weekend they the hermitage in amsterdam (dependent of the world-famous museum in saint petersburg). anyway, this engraving was on public bench in the middle of amsterdam. they do appear to know where north is.

bicycle popularity has been increasing exponentially. the production of these is up to fifty million a year and only in china there are currently more than four hundred million bicycles. the only detail here is that if fifty percent of the car rides in the u.s. are less than two miles, how come only one percent of these rides are made in bicycle? food for thought.. in holland this percentage ranges around the thirties.

it is always relaxing to drive around town in a photo hunt. this horse was surprisingly found in a lot, with regular garden grass as you might see. this young and skinny horse just happened to be calmly posing for me in the heat of noon. cartago 2009

just like most of the developing countries, or third world countries as others might say are victims of this. if you don’t know what i’m talking about, it’s the bus. beautfully painted and decorated with such colorful, yet strong character. inside it, is an old beat up school bus from the states. if observe closely, you can see the smoke that i happened to suffer after the bus went by. panama city 2008

this is a photo of gamla hofnin. or we could also call this the city harbour, situated just next to the city center. a ver public place, with a public exhibit exposing old satellite photos of the area. this is iceland’s busiest port with ferries and container ships coming in and out all day long. the photo is taken just in front of a construction/ development in the area, which probably explains the pothole. 2009 happy birthday cami-j!
