just like people, there are different kinds of everything. here, there, anyhere, and everywhere. as people migrate from different places too, trade has migrated different types of goods throughout the world. howeever, just as these miniature pumpkins, we can see how everything adapts to their environment and the conditions these undergo.

i’m trying to figure out what these are called. unfortunately i wasn’t able to try them that day, and they’ve been subconciously haunting me since.

new years eve: we all wait for a whole year to come to this day and reflect upon everything that has happened within the year and time passing. some wish desperately or many times momentarily for this day to come or to pass, while many others are avoiding it. yet sooner or later we get together to make a new year’s wish: these valuable resolutions that let us survive another year.

many worry with what they do, what they are, and what makes this happen. also, the factors of life that also affect this and become affected as well, like responsibility. many others arbitrate such thoughts, with an ideal happiness. “it doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you’re happy”, but only one can decide what makes them happy according to their respective standards. for the few seconds that i saw this garbage disposal man in lijiang, i couldn’t help but notice in his smile that he doesn’t fight mondays.

110209it was mid summer in the outsides of lijiang, as i explored the gardens of a monastery. along the path i walked was a dried up river where water barely moved from little bodies to the next. going down the hill i found myself in the bottle neck where some people gathered to enjoy of this element in it’s most “natural” form. the moment where they ducked to touch the water reflected into a stopped motion where hands were just dug into a stream of gold.
happy birthday denise.

102509another realization of a daily pattern i use that resemble this photo is my high appreciation on light, pattern and texture. just like the previous two entries and a significant number of the total. as it might seem for some to be a very simple scene, the way i see this photo and what i felt was its relation to life. the different texture (depths and odulations) within each stone, are a step to this path created by light. the water is tehre to help and to slow us down depending on our pace and decisions. destiny to some.

082609behhehehehe…! this is for you dianer, happy happy birthdayday!
anyway, this awesome horned sheep with gold teeth got me in trouble as i snapped a photo of it. it’s owner claimed that i had to pay him for taking the photo as i took a photo of the sheep. hmm, very dodgy, but anyway the sheep was still unaware of the situation and just kept showing off it’s gold teeth.

082209another genuine smile from another old man in this city of lijiang. he might look a little creepy to some, but his wrinkles, beard and teeth are just a good sign of happiness to me. unlike most standing characters in disney, theis man was not posing, and not to mention being paid to smile and pretend. this man is the real deal, carrying on a legacy of traditions from the dong ba kingdom in lijiang, china.
