111209maybe i zoomed in too much. but even if the photo were zoomed out a little, it was still hard to figure the pattern of this brick work. just outside of the st. joh’n cathedral, we see how this amazing monument slowly shows more tearing in its surfaces. these grains and cracks mix in a very complementing way with the beautiful natural setting.

101409his accent was priceless. he was selling steelpans, sized from a fifity five gallon gasoline tank down to little portable and decoration ones. i was really interested, yet they were far too delicate to put inside my baggage. always been fascinated by the sound of these. it is often called a steeldrum which is incorrect. the steelpan falls into the idiophone family of instruments. it’s sound, formed through vibrations are just energetic and possitive.

092709the skyline of st. john’s, the capital and largest city of antigua and barbuda, is dominated by the magnificently evocative white baroque towers of st. john’s cathedral. built in 1845, the church is now in its third incarnation, as earthquakes in 1683 and in 1745 destroyed the previous structures. the towers are the first sight of antigua for about half of the island’s visitors each year, but what less that half of this half is actually wander inside to observe whate lies beneath that strong layer of stone.
